USG Boral commits US$20 million to expansion in Vietnam

KUALA LUMPUR - USG Boral plans to expand production in Vietnam, with a US$20 million investment in a plant at Hiep Phuoc Industrial Zone, Ho Chi Minh City to meet growing demand for high-quality plasterboards.

The production capacity for plasterboard is currently at 30 million m2. The new facility is set to increase production capacity by 17 million m2 and is targetted to reach a total capacity of 47 million m2 after it opens in September 2019.

Frederic de Rougemont, CEO of USG Boral, said the company had seen demand for building materials rise rapidly in Vietnam's expanding construction industry.

USG Boral was the first global corporation to establish a plasterboard production facility in Vietnam, in 2006. Headquartered in Kuala Lumpur, USG Boral Building Products was founded in 2014 as a joint venture between USG Corporation and Australia´s Boral Limited.  www.USGBoral.com (ATI).
