US businesses to lower 2015 reinvestments in China

March 3, 2015

BEIJING - Based on an annual survey covering business concerns about regulatory changes, protectionist policies, transparency and unequal treatment, members of the American Chamber of Commerce in South China have reduced their 2015 reinvestment budgets by 9.3%, with reinvestment budgets for the coming three years dropping by 16.9%.

Although the companies view the Chinese market’s growth trends as “highly positive”, the reduced reinvestment budgets imply “increased uncertainty in the medium term”.

This marks the first time in the 10 years the report has been compiled that companies have recorded less reinvestment than originally budgetted. www.webershandwick.cn (ATI).
