GDP growth in Indonesia up slightly in Q4, to 5.2%

February 5, 2018

JAKARTA - GDP growth for Indonesia ticked higher to 5.2% y/y in Q4 2017 from 5.1% y/y in Q3. The uptick was led by a faster pace of Government spending and firm investment. Growth in private consumption, on the other hand, remained tepid.

Looking ahead, ANZ Bank says growth is expected to improve slightly to 5.3% in 2018 as consumption demand improves. “The Asian games will also help support the economic recovery in our view.”

ANZ says the GDP outcome and the economy’s expected trajectory are unlikely to influence current monetary policy.  www.live.anz.com   (ATI).
