Garuda Indonesia celebrates 50 years flying Indonesian hospitality to Australia

JAKARTA - Garuda Indonesia is celebrating the 50th anniversary of its inaugural flight to Australia. The carrier's first Bali-Sydney service, operated by a DC-8 jet aircraft, departed from Jakarta on November 23, 1969.

The initial service operated weekly on Mondays. Garuda now offers daily return flights to Bali from Australia and 3-5 flights weekly return flights to Jakarta from Sydney, Melbourne and Perth.

Now a member of the SkyTeam Alliance, Garuda Indonesia today services 69 domestic and 22 international destinations. It is the first airline to win the World's Best Cabin Crew Skytrax award for five consecutive years, 2014 -2018. www.garuda-indonesia.com
