Electric “Chinese red” buses hit the roads in central Beijing

October 23, 2017

BEIJING - China’s first 10 electric "Chinese red" buses were put into service yesterday. The buses, 18 metres in length, are shaped like bionic dolphins with lightweight design. They also have a multi-functional area for passengers who are unable to move freely.

The Beijing Laoshan charging station for electric buses has been established, allowing 14 vehicles to be charged in 15 to 20 minutes at one time through high-power quick-charging piles.

By the end of this year, 4,536 electric buses will hit the roads, and at least 100 charging stations will be provided, the China Daily reported.  www.webershandwick,cn (ATI).
